Co-parenting & Separation Counselling

A supportive, neutral space for parents to improve communication and find healthier ways of working together - for your children and for yourselves.

  • Joint or individual sessions
  • In person or online
  • Children's needs at the centre

What co-parenting counselling is

Co-parenting counselling provides a supportive, neutral space for parents to improve communication and develop healthier ways of working together. The goal isn't to make parents agree on everything, but to help create a more respectful, consistent and workable co-parenting relationship.

What we focus on

  • Navigating conflict and de-escalating tense conversations
  • Setting boundaries that work for both households
  • Managing differences in parenting styles, routines and discipline
  • Keeping children's needs at the centre of decision-making

How sessions work

The first session is usually held together, to understand the concerns and goals of both parents. Sessions may then continue together, or combine joint and individual sessions. When conflict or tension is higher, one to three individual sessions may come first, giving each parent space to work through concerns and build a stronger foundation for productive communication.

Sessions can be online, with each parent joining from their own home. Children can be included as part of the family unit when it's appropriate for them and fits the goals of counselling.

Signs it's time to get help

  • Communication often turns into conflict
  • You rarely agree on important decisions like routines and discipline
  • Resentment is coming out in your interactions
  • You both want a way forward, but neither of you knows where to start

Going through separation on your own

Separation and divorce can bring grief, questions about identity, and the hard work of rebuilding. Individual counselling is available if you're navigating it on your own.

This counselling supports the emotional wellbeing of families. I don't provide custody assessments or court reports.
