My approach

Most importantly, my approach is collaborative. We work with the different "parts" of ourselves with curiosity and compassion, helping you reconnect with your internal resources and strengthen your sense of Self.

Anxiety

First comes understanding anxiety - exploring what's contributing to it, then working toward breaking the anxiety cycle. I draw from CBT, ACT and DBT so you leave with tools you can use day to day.

Depression

We start by understanding what's contributing to how you're feeling - your history, health, relationships and circumstances. Then we work together to identify small, realistic steps toward reconnecting with what matters to you.

Trauma

Working with trauma doesn't require talking about everything you've experienced. Internal Family Systems and somatic approaches build awareness of how past experiences affect your thoughts, emotions, body and responses to stress. This mind-body awareness can help you understand your needs, build a greater sense of safety and develop new ways of responding.

Trauma therapy isn't about erasing the past - it's about helping the past have less control over the present.

Grief and loss

Whether you're mourning the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship or a major life change, counselling can help you navigate the complexity of loss.

DBT skills

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills can help with intense emotions, emotion regulation, anxiety, depression and relationship patterns.

Tracking progress

We check in on how things are changing - through your own sense of what's different and simple week-to-week scaling. How long it takes varies from person to person.

If you're in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 9-8-8 any time, or call 911 in an emergency. Counselling is not an emergency service.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies from person to person. We set goals together and check in regularly on what's changing.
